The Ambassador of the Order of Malta to Togo presents his credentials

The new ambassador of the Sovereign Order of Malta to the Republic of Togo, Eric Deroo, presented his credentials to President Faure Essozimna Gnassingbé.

The Order of Malta has been active in Togo for decades. It was responsible for the construction of the Elavagnon Hospital Center (in Est Mono) and also supports the polyclinic centers in Kara and Lomé, as well as the leprosy hospitals in Agou and Dapaong. Additionally, the Order has provided various donations of medicines and vehicles for leprosy screening and treatment.

During a visit to Rome in June 2013, President Faure Gnassingbé was received at the Magistral Palace by the Grand Master of the Order of Malta, Fra’ Matthew Festing.
